After I purchase items, how do i get my receipt to the bean app?
At checkout, when prompted with an option of how you would like to receive your receipt, you will be given a QR code option. Select the QR code option, and scan it with the QR scanner on the Bean app. Once the app detects the code, select the "Scan Receipt" button that will appear. You will be given a message saying it was scanned successfully, and the receipt will show up on the Receipts Page.
Will purchases I make online show up on the Bean app as well?
Yes, receipts of purchases made online are usually sent to your email. Bean will be able to format email receipts to show up on the app as well.
Can I get my current paper receipts on the Bean app?
Unfortunately not. Bean is targeted to partner with businesses and point of sale service companies, to be able to format receipts to be compatible with the Bean app. With the many formats and sizes paper receipts currently come in, it will not be possible to scan existing paper receipts and neatly format them to be on the Bean app.
What are the drawbacks of paper receipts?
Simply put, paper receipts are a major inconvenience. They end up lost or destroyed, the ink fades, and they give us a hard time. Moreover, the chemical coating on paper receipts is harmful for the body and the environment. Check out our Problem page for more information.
What do beans have to do with receipt storage?
Absolutely nothing! We just thought it was a catchy name.
Why is this choice better than email?
Email wasn't designed to store valuable information. You receive emails on a daily basis, and organizing everything can be daunting. That's why having an external app that is designed purely for receipt storage will keep you organized, and hopefully make your busy life a little easier. Plus this option keeps your email off promotional lists and retail databases.
